MicroStock Racing is Still Where It's At

I recently was able to witness MicroStock racing again, which I have not seen live in almost 20 years since the closing of Pine Brook Speedway. The sounds and smells immediately brought be back to those days as a 7-year-old kid being enamored with these karts.

14 cars showed up for a fun not-for-money raceday at an undisclosed location in northern NJ.

Loafing around in the Carribbean.

My parents, after feeling sorry for me having such a shitty first quarter of 2004, purchased a vacation for me to the beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

I took a ton of pictures of the resort, truely a 6-star establishment. They waited on you hand and foot.

So I was sending email to myself recently, and I must say, as common as it is for some people, finding someone with my exact name is unusual. Put it this way, egosearching on Google reveals less than five. Apparently it seems I'm doing pretty well, too, which is nice.

Anyways, this John has a PhD in Physics and seems to be a really cool and intelligent guy to bs with.

Naturally, we both have long hair. Anything otherwise would violate some law of nature I'm sure.

After reminiscing on a forum about the old days of the American Micro Stock Racing Association, I thought about starting up a website in homage to the old AMSRA. You know, The Pine Brook Days.

So I registered amsra.org and plan to put up a website with old pictures, facts and tidbits, and a message forum. When? When I have some free time.

My Departure from Celerity Communications

On December 22, 2003, I submitted the final signed piece of paperwork marking my departure from Celerity Communications, the consulting firm I co-founded 7 years prior.

The split was amicable in the academic sense: I desperately wanted to get off a sinking ship and they desperately needed my shares of stock to help soak up the water.
